What is a stack parking system?
A stack parker is a platform system that lifts one car so another can park below it, using a hydraulic or traction (rope/chain) drive. Two or more levels can be stacked, depending on the building height.
In a dependent stacker, the car on the lower level has to be taken out before the upper platform can be lowered. Independent stackers use a pit so that every car can be reached on its own.
Dependent vs independent stack parkers
Dependent stack parker
Simple and economical. Best where the same users park, such as one family or office team.
Independent stack parker
Each level is reachable without moving other cars. Needs a pit and suits shared parking.
Hydraulic or traction drive
Both drive types are used. The right one depends on height, load and space.
Compact urban footprint
Adds parking inside existing stilt, basement or podium areas.
Where it is used
- Residential societies and villas
- Offices and showrooms
- Basement and stilt parking upgrades
- Hospitals and institutions

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between dependent and independent stack parking?
In a dependent system the lower car must be moved out before the upper car can be lowered. In an independent system each car can be reached on its own, which needs a pit.
Can stack parkers be installed in an existing building?
Often yes, if the ceiling height, floor strength and driveway allow it. A site assessment confirms feasibility.
Do stack parkers need maintenance?
Yes. Hydraulic seals, chains, sensors and safety locks need regular servicing. RK Technologies provides preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
Does RK Technologies repair stack parkers?
Yes. Our technicians handle hydraulic and mechanical component replacement and electrical fault diagnosis.
